Try 14 days freeHi, and welcome to Headspace, as we explore the practice of loving humanity. There are billions of humans on the planet, most of which we will never meet. As humans, we can clearly notice our differences and feel separate from each other. However, the truth is, there's much more reasons to acknowledge our similarities and recognize our interdependence. Let's face it, we all rely upon the same things to live. How we see and treat each other will determine the value and accessibility of these natural resources. Let's also acknowledge the tremendous humanitarian efforts and scientific breakthroughs that our fellow humans continue to offer us. When you make time, as you are now, to practice your ability to love humanity, you can enhance your perspective and recognize we're all in this together. And the importance of unifying instead of dividing. For now, keep the eyes open, and make yourself as comfortable as possible. Whether you're sitting upright or lying down, find yourself becoming very still, as you bring attention to the weight of your body, where it makes contact with the surface and allow yourself to completely settle in. Paying attention to your natural breathing pattern at the entrance of the nostrils, noticing your inhalation, and noticing your exhalation. We're not judging it, we are simply noticing the natural flow of the breath. If your situation allows, you're welcome to lightly close the eyes and continue to focus on the flow of your breath. Let's now take a moment to envision all of humanity, from our local neighbors and community members, to all the various ethnicities throughout the world. Let's wish them all well. Repeat the following terms in your mind and imagining humanity living in this way. May all of humanity experience health and wellness. May all of humanity experience happiness and laughter. May all of humanity experience love and peace. May all of humanity experience safety and live with ease. Just imagine all humans all over the planet, living in this way, being touched by your love for humanity in this moment. Living life full of health and happiness. Full of love and peace, and safely experiencing this life with ease. Humanity is worthy of your wish of wellbeing. Humanity is worthy of your compassion. Humanity is worthy of your forgiveness. Humanity is worthy of your love. I invite you to bring attention back to the flow of your breath, inhaling, feeling empowered by the breath, and exhaling as you share your love with humanity. When you are ready, bring attention to the physical body, and gently open the eyes. May you touch, move and inspire humanity with your love....
