Hi, and welcome to this short guided meditation, focused on practicing patience. Now, whether you're physically waiting in line, or perhaps you're in your car waiting to pick up an order, it's the perfect opportunity to cultivate a calm, content and patient mind. We live in a very busy world where we often have a multitude of things to do in our day, and it can leave us feeling impatient. The good news is that patience is an inherent part of the mind. We don't have to create patience. We only miss it or tend to notice its absence when we experience impatience. So with that in mind, let's get ready for this short exercise. So take a moment to get comfortable. You can keep your eyes open for this, just aware of your surroundings, aware of other people around you. And start by taking a couple of big, deep breaths. Breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth. So, I'd just like you to place your attention on the breath for a few short moments. Right now, there is nothing else to do but bring your awareness into the present moment. Knowing that your mind might get caught up in thinking about waiting. But each time, just gently letting it go and coming back to the breath where you can enjoy that clear, calm and patient mind. Knowing that there might be other people also waiting in line. Who like you, may have a busy day. So just bringing a sense of kindness to everyone who is waiting. So just continuing to follow the breath. So your mind might wander, perhaps distracted by a thought, maybe a feeling. But each time, just gently letting it go and coming back to the breath, following each in-breath and each out-breath. Just pausing in this moment aware of everyone around you as you just wait your turn. Small moments like this are so helpful in our day, just pausing and connecting with the breath. Knowing there will always be things to do and always things to wait for....
