Try 14 days freeDo you ever find yourself sitting there during your Headspace session thinking "Am I doing this right?" Or maybe, you spend the next couple of minutes just worrying if you are doing it right. Or even wondering if there's anything to do at all. There's a real temptation when training the mind to believe there's some kind of independent truth. Some kind of voice in our mind which should be listened to. And another one that shouldn't. Wah wah wah wah wah. So thoughts about laundry and work and cooking, or whatever else it might be, we just let those go, and bring our attention back to the object of focus. "But am I doing it right?" Well, we can't help think that that requires more attention. So we buy into the thought. We forget that it's just another thought, no different from any other. When we're learning a new skill, of course we want to bring a sense of curiosity to it, but this kind of exercise is subtle. We need to approach it knowing that thinking is just thinking. It doesn't matter what kind of thinking it is. We simply see it, acknowledge it, we let it go, and we return to our object of focus....
