Better mental health starts with Headspace

So welcome back to Headspace Pro and to day one of level five. Now our experience of sitting in silence is defined very much by our perception. So there will be days when the mind might be quite busy and you'll probably be quite okay with that. There'll be other days when the mind is quite busy and you'll be very much not okay with that. And the mind will probably react or you'll probably react with a sense of frustration or agitation, whatever it might be. So clearly our perception governs our experience. Now perception can be, and it usually is, largely sort of habit dependent. So over time we've got used to seeing things in a certain way. It doesn't mean they're fixed in that way. In fact, they can quite easily change. They can change through just life events. They can change through us becoming more aware as we train the mind or we can actually train the mind very specifically to sort of shift this perception a little bit. And that's what we're gonna look at over the next 10 days. And in particular, we're gonna look at this idea of how we can train our perception to be, and well, to have a slightly more sort of dreamlike quality about it. It's not suggesting, of course, that life is a dream. It's clearly not. But we can bring to life a slightly lighter kind of perspective which is in some ways reminiscent of the dreamlike quality. And that will start to make more sense as we continue over the next few days. But for now just find a comfortable place when the body is set upright, but relaxed. Just beginning the exercise in the usual way breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth. And just gently opening the eyes now, just feeling the way that the body is. Mind comes more aware of the different physical senses as you get a sense of how it feels to have paused, taken some time knowing knowing, as always, this is just the beginning it's not the end of awareness. The exercise is just remind us of what it means to be present, then about carrying that into our everyday life. And as you go about your life today just like you to introduce this idea of a sort of a dreamlike perspective. The easiest way of doing it is to imagine when you're walking down the local street or wherever it might be, something, a place that you go every day. Maybe just try to imagine, just for a moment, that you're on holiday, you're somewhere new, you're somewhere you haven't been before. Just bringing that quality to that short walk so that you start to see the street in a different way. It's quite a difficult thing to put into words. Hopefully you get a sense of it as you try it today. And again, it will make more sense how this ties...
