Try 14 days free(smooth music) May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and to celebrate, Headspace is releasing "Mental Health Matters," a collection of resources to help prioritize your mind and wellbeing for a happier, healthier life. Whether it's learning healthy habits, finding happiness at work, or exploring mindfulness in your everyday life, we're committed to providing you with the tools to make the most out of your month and find a sense of community using this handpicked collection. To kick things off, we asked real Headspace members just like you to open up about their journey with mental health. Let's hear what they had to say. One common, mark. Shake your arms like this. What is something that I do for self-care? Oh, easy. I meditate. (upbeat music) I have Gretchen Wieners and Regina George. Those are my dogs, and Oliver is my cat, 'cause he hangs out with the dogs. So I'll just look into their eyes, grab their face and look into their eyes, and go, "Goochy-goochy-goo," and then it makes me stop crying. Meditation helps significantly. I wish I did more of it. For self-care, I will go on a walk around my neighborhood, or I'll just roll out my yoga mat and put in my AirPods and then listen to a podcast. Meditating, breathing and cooking or baking team. (upbeat music) This is actually a very important topic to me because I suffer from some cognitive behavioral disabilities and I feel like there are stigmas about what someone should be or having to hide who you are. That it's okay not to be okay. We all experience some sort of anxiety or some sort of depression, some sort of sadness, and that you're not alone. You're not the only person that is feeling this way. Everybody kind of needs to understand that mental health isn't just for people who are struggling. Like keeping good mental health is for anybody. To stay healthy, you gotta keep your mind healthy. You know, I wish more people accepted those two words together, mental health. Somebody said to me once that, you know, we're all told to get physical every year or every so often, but nobody says, "Hey, go get a mental," and that it's not a different thing. It's not like health. You know, there's your body health, and then there's your mental health. It's all health. (bright music) The most important thing I learned about mental health is probably pacing myself and learning how to protect myself more than wanting to do things for other people, when I really need to just take a step back, and I have to learn to to say no. It's okay to say no sometimes. I think I learned that I don't need to carry so much shame. I carried so much shame about like things that I do. So mental health for me just helped me like open up and be like, "Okay, it's not that deep." Like I need to be kinder...
